BSF Chief Visits Manipur: BSF Director General Daljit Singh Chawdhary came to Manipur on a two-day visit from May 24 to 25 to check the law and order situation. He reached the state with senior officers and spent time with security officials and BSF jawans. Manipur has seen a lot of trouble since violence started on May 3, 2023, so many forces like the BSF, Army, Assam Rifles, CRPF and ITBP have been sent there to help keep peace.
During his visit in the evening around 6:20 PM, BSF DG met with the state’s top security officers like Kuldiep Singh, who is the security advisor to the Manipur government and a former CRPF DG, reports India Today NE. He also had talks with the Director General of Police, Rajiv Singh. They discussed how things are going in the state and what more needs to be done to improve safety and control the violence.

Daljit Singh Chawdhary didn’t just meet officials in offices he also went straight to where the BSF troops are working. He held a Sainik Sammelan at the BSF’s sector headquarters in Koirengei and spoke to all the officers and jawans.
Many troopers from different parts of Manipur joined the session through video conferencing. DG praised their hard work and said they are doing a great job in keeping the area safe. He told them to stay strong and keep doing their duty with full energy.
He also visited BSF camps near the borders of Bishnupur and Churachandpur districts, which are some of the most affected areas. There, he talked to the jawans directly and encouraged them. He then went to the 10th battalion BSF headquarters in Loktak and met the BSF members there too. At each place, he spoke to the troops, listened to them, and appreciated their efforts to keep the peace.

DG also watched a live demo by BSF soldiers. He got a full briefing about how the situation is being handled and what kind of challenges the troops are facing on the ground.
He was with some other senior officers from BSF like Additional Director General of Eastern Command Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, Inspector General of Mizoram and Cachar Frontier Sanjay Kumar Misra, and Inspector General of STC-BSF Indra Deo Singh.
