CDS Toppers: Harshita Kadian from Rohtak Tops in CDS with 3rd Rank

Rohtak girl Harshita Kadian secured 3rd all-India rank in the CDS exam. Coming from an academic family, she now moves closer to her dream of joining the Indian armed forces.

CDS Toppers: Harshita Kadian, a young girl from Rohtak, has made everyone proud by getting the third rank all over India in the Combined Defence Services (CDS) exam. The result came out on Friday evening and brought joy to her family and everyone who knows her. This exam is very tough and is held twice every year by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). It helps choose new officers for different parts of the Indian defence forces like the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Officer Training Academy. Harshita’s name is now shining among the top few in the country.

Harshita studied at OP Modern Jindal School in Hisar. After school, she went to Delhi University where she studied history. Her family is full of educated people and they have always supported her dreams. Her father, Ashok Kadian, and her mother, Kiran Kadian, run an academy in Hisar where they teach students how to speak English and prepare for IELTS exams. The family belongs to Dubaldhan village in the Jhajjar district. Her roots are simple but strong, reports TOI.

Her grandfather, Ran Singh, used to work as a superintendent in the public works department and has now retired. Her grandmother, Omwati Devi, was a Hindi teacher in a government school and has also retired. Harshita shared that her grandfather always wanted her to become a gazetted officer.

That dream pushed her to keep working hard. She said that she always had deep respect for the army and wearing the uniform was something she wished for since childhood. She also said, “The respect for the army uniform has always lived in my heart. Today, my entire family is proud that I will soon serve the nation as an officer.”

Harshita said her grandfather gave her the strength and inspiration to work hard. His words stayed in her heart and helped her believe in herself even during tough times. She said, “He instilled in me the passion to succeed. Two things have always stayed with me – hard work and self-belief.”
