A 28-year-old Gujarat health worker was arrested by ATS for leaking sensitive BSF and Navy details to a Pakistani agent, who tricked him over WhatsApp and paid him ₹40,000.

Pakistani Spy, Indian Pakistani Spy

Pakistani Spy: A 28-year-old health worker from Gujarat’s Kutch district has been arrested by the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) for sharing secret information about Border Security Force (BSF) and Indian Navy buildings. Officials say the man, named Sahdevsinh Gohil, was working on contract at a government health center in Mata No Madh village in Lakhpat taluka when he got involved in this serious crime. The ATS found that he had been talking to a Pakistani spy who tricked him into sending photos and details of military places near his village.

The ATS shared that the Pakistani agent used the name Aditi Bharadwaj and first contacted Gohil through WhatsApp. She slowly became friendly with him and then asked him for pictures and videos of BSF and Navy buildings, even the ones still being built. Gohil started sending these secret details through WhatsApp from June 2023. The police said he kept doing it after the agent gained his trust.

Superintendent of Police from ATS, Siddharth Korukonda, said, “After winning his trust, the agent sought photos and videos of BSF and Indian Navy offices and ongoing construction around his village. Gohil shared the requested classified information via WhatsApp.” He was sharing this information while working as a health worker in the same village where some of the construction work was going on. The man even got a new SIM card in January 2025 using his Aadhaar card, and then shared the OTP with the agent. This allowed the agent sitting in Pakistan to use a WhatsApp account with an Indian number, which helped them stay hidden.

Cash Payment and Ongoing Probe

The police found out that Gohil had also received ₹40,000 in cash for this work. Someone gave him this money, but the person is still not known.

The ATS said, “Forensic analysis revealed that both the numbers on which Gohil used to share the information are currently being operated from Pakistan. We also learnt that he had received Rs 40,000 cash from an unidentified person sometime ago for sharing that information” TOI reports. Officials acted after getting a clear tip about his actions. They called him for questioning, and after checking his phone closely, they found enough proof to confirm everything.

The sections they used are Section 61, which is for criminal planning, and Section 148, which is for making war against the government. The investigation is still going on, and the police are trying to find out who gave him the money and whether more people are involved.
