Indian Army Commemorates 25th Anniversary of Kargil War with Pan-India Motorcycle Expedition

The Indian Army is launching a Pan-India Motorcycle Expedition to honor the bravery of the Kargil War heroes, promoting unity, respect, and enlistment among the riders.

25th Anniversary of Kargil War: On the 25th anniversary of India’s victory over Pakistan in 1999, the Indian Army launched a Pan-India Motorcycle Expedition in remembrance of the bravery and sacrifices made by the heroes of the Kargil War. This expedition honours the memory of our courageous heroes and highlights their enormous accomplishments.

Three groups, each with eight motorbike riders, left on this historic trip. They came from Dinjan in the east, Dwarka in the west, and Dhanushkodi in the south. To show how strong and united the military forces are, these riders will go through a variety of rough terrain.

They will meet heroes of the Kargil War, veterans, and Veer Naris along the way. They will also pay respect to war memorials, spread awareness, and inspire young people to enlist in the Indian Army.

From Dinjan to Delhi, the Eastern Route travels 2,489 kilometers, stopping at Jorhat, Guwahati, Binaguri, Katihar, Danapur, Gorakhpur, Lucknow, and Agra. The Western Route travels 1,565 kilometers, passing through Dhrangadhra, Ahmedabad, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Ajmer, Jaipur, and Alwar, to go from Dwarka to Delhi.

The 2,963-kilometer Southern Route connects Dhanushkodi with Delhi, passing through Madurai, Coimbatore, Bengaluru, Anantapur, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Bhopal, Gwalior, and Alwar as well.

The teams will meet in Delhi on June 26 and then take two separate ways to get to Dras. One will go through Chandimandir, Manali, Sarchu, Nyoma, Tangtse, and Leh, which are 1,509 kilometres long, and the other will go through Ambala, Amritsar, Jammu, Udhampur, and Srinagar, which are 1,085 kilometres long. The trip will end at Gun Hill in Dras, a place that was very important for strategy during the Kargil War.

At key locations, ceremonies to raise and lower the flag will be held in the presence of senior military officials, veterans, Veer Naris, and other well-known guests to cheer on and support the riders.

By sharing tales of bravery, selflessness, and patriotism, the Regiment of Artillery’s expedition not only honours the memory of the Kargil casualties but also demonstrates the Indian Army’s enduring spirit.
