Mazagon Dock, Indian Navy sign pact with Brazil for Scorpène submarine cooperation

Mazagon Dock and the Indian Navy signed an MoU with the Brazilian Navy to work together on Scorpène-class submarine support, defence manufacturing skills and new technology development for future naval projects.

Mazagon Dock and Indian Navy Partnership: Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd, a major shipbuilder owned by the Indian government, said on Wednesday, December 10, that it signed a new MoU with the Brazilian Navy. The Indian Navy also joined this agreement. The deal aims to bring both countries together to work on taking care of Scorpène-class submarines and other naval ships.

The company shared this update in a filing and explained that the agreement will help both sides grow in many areas. The MoU covers teamwork on new purchase plans, sharing skills in defence manufacturing, and doing research together to build new technology and fresh ideas.

The company’s shares ended the day at ₹2,434 each. This price is 2.21% lower than the amount at the start of the day on the NSE. Even with this small dip, the company has shown strong growth in the past months.

In October, Mazagon Dock said that its consolidated net profit went up by 28.1% to ₹749 crore for the quarter that ended on September 30, 2025. Last year during the same quarter, the profit was ₹585 crore. The company said this jump happened because revenue increased and margins improved.

Mazagon Dock also shared more financial updates. Revenue from operations grew 6.3% year-on-year and reached ₹2,929 crore, compared with ₹2,756 crore in the same period the previous year. The company’s EBITDA rose 36.1% to ₹695 crore, up from ₹510.2 crore last year. The operating margin went up to 23.7% from 18.5%, reported CNBC TV18.
