India’s Airborne Defence: Versabyte Data Systems Private Ltd, a company in the Sanlayan Group, created a new high-voltage power supply that can work on military aircraft. This device helps run self-protection jammers that keep pilots safer during missions. The team at Versabyte made this system with DRDO scientists. The company has worked on tough power electronics for almost forty years so this project shows their long skill in this field.
The Armed Forces received this system as one of seven special technologies that came out through DRDO’s Technology Development Fund, which supports India’s push for Aatmanirbhar Bharat and more local production of important defence parts.

Work Between Government and Industry
Public and private groups in India now work closely to build new defence systems. The Technology Development Fund helps bring together companies, start-ups, and MSMEs so they can create new research and build real systems for the military. This model makes Indian companies develop their own technology and rely less on things from other countries.
As the TDF program grows, it helps India build stronger skills in key areas, improve how the military buys new systems, and speed up the time from idea to real use. This way, development fits better with what soldiers need on the ground, and it helps build a defence industry that focuses on new ideas and self-reliance.

He later handed over the technology to Air Marshal Awdhesh Kumar Bharti. DRDO Chairman Samir V. Kamat and Vice Admiral Vineet McCarthy were also there. Versabyte’s place in the Sanlayan Group makes the Group stronger in defence electronics and helps India replace more foreign-made parts in important military systems.
Sanlayan also earned praise for its work. The company won DRDO’s Most Innovative Project Award at Samanvay 2025 for its airborne electronic warfare payload.
