DPSUs Partnership: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) have signed new Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Yantra India Limited (YIL). The goal of these agreements are to help YIL modernize and set up a massive 10,000 ton Forging Press facility. This new plant will make aluminium alloy parts that are important for the defence and aerospace industries, which India currently buys from other countries.

Atmanirbhar Bharat

This partnership supports the Government of India’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ vision, which means ‘Self-Reliant India’. It shows that Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) are working together to grow India’s local manufacturing power and reduce dependence on imports.

As part of the plan, HAL will give YIL an interest-free advance of ₹435 crore. This money will help YIL build and modernize the new forging press facility. BDL has also promised to give steady work to the plant by using up to 3,000 metric tonnes of production over the next ten years. This will help keep the plant running smoothly and create long-term jobs and skills for workers.

The 10,000-ton Forging Press will be one of the biggest in the country. It will be used to make large aluminium alloy components that are currently imported for aircraft and other defence equipment. Once it starts working, it will help reduce waiting time, bring down manufacturing costs, and save foreign exchange

India’s Defence Production

The event also saw the signing of three major MoUs among defence companies, showing the spirit of teamwork and progress. Along with HAL–YIL and BDL–YIL partnerships, a third MoU was signed to set up a Metal Bank at Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI).
