GEE Ltd shares surged nearly 15% after the company announced it supplied welding consumables for three newly commissioned Indian Navy warships, strengthening its position in India’s growing defence manufacturing sector.

 GEE Ltd Share Jump

GEE Ltd Share Jump: On Wednesday, GEE Ltd stood out in a weak market. The Nifty 50 was almost flat at 23,820.85, but GEE’s share price rose sharply after a big defence update. The stock jumped about 15% and hit around the Rs 109 to Rs 110 zone during trade after the company said it had helped with the commissioning of three Indian Navy warships.

The main reason for the rise was simple. GEE said it was the exclusive supplier of welding consumables used for the three warships. These ships were INS Dunagiri, INS Agray and INS Sanshodhak. They were commissioned on June 21, 2026, in Kolkata. The event was led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

GEE’s Role in the Three Warships

The company said it supplied welding consumables for all three naval platforms. In easy words, these are the materials used to help join metal parts during ship building. GEE said its products helped support the quality and strength of the ships while they were being made.

The three warships were built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd, or GRSE. They were designed by the Indian Navy’s Warship Design Bureau. The ships were made with more than 75% indigenous content, which fits the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat push.

INS Dunagiri is a Project 17A stealth frigate built for many kinds of combat work. It carries missile systems such as BrahMos and Barak-8. INS Agray is an Arnala-class Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft meant for coastal jobs and submarine-hunting work. INS Sanshodhak is a survey vessel for deep-sea hydrographic work and it carries Autonomous Underwater Vehicles and Remotely Operated Vehicles.

What the Management Said

GEE’s management gave a strong comment on the win. Umesh Agrawal, Joint Managing Director of GEE Limited, said “We are deeply honoured to be the trusted welding partner for this landmark triple commissioning presided over by the Honourable Prime Minister.” He added that supplying materials for three different naval platforms at the same time shows the company’s technical skill, steady quality and reliability in defence work.
