Bharat Dynamics HAL Order: Bharat Dynamics Ltd (BDL) has won a fresh order worth Rs 1,347.71 crore from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). The defence PSU told the stock exchanges on Wednesday, June 24, and used this exact line in its filing: “we wish to inform that BDL has received following orders worth about Rs 1347.71 crore (gross) from M/s Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).” The work will be done over 24 to 60 months.
The order is split into two parts. One part is for Helina Launchers and Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) worth Rs 1,109.37 crore. The other part is for Counter Measures Dispensing System LRUs worth Rs 238.34 crore. In simple words, this means BDL will supply key missile-related and aircraft-protection hardware for HAL.

What do these Systems do?
Helina is BDL’s “fire-and-forget” anti-tank missile system. On BDL’s official site, the company says HELINA is an abbreviation for Helicopter launched NAG and is an Air to Surface Missile system. It is launched from the Advanced Light Helicopter and uses twin launchers, one on each side, carrying eight missiles in total. BDL also says the system uses an imaging infrared seeker for tracking targets.
The other item, CMDS, is made to help helicopters stay safe. BDL says its Counter Measures Dispensing System (CMDS) is an airborne self-protection system that defends aircraft against radar-guided and IR-seeking missiles by releasing chaff and flares. BDL’s own company profile says it has long worked with DRDO and builds missile and defence systems for the Indian Armed Forces.
Recent Results from BDL and HAL
The order comes at a time when BDL has just posted weak quarterly numbers. In Q4FY26, its net profit fell 58.5% to Rs 113 crore from Rs 273 crore a year earlier. Revenue dropped 73% to Rs 480 crore, while EBITDA slipped 81.5% to Rs 55.2 crore. The EBITDA margin stood at 11.5%, down from 16.8% in Q4FY25.

HAL, on the other hand, reported a better quarter. Its net profit rose 5.5% to Rs 4,196 crore in the fourth quarter of FY26, compared with Rs 3,977 crore in the same period last year. Revenue also went up 1.8% to Rs 13,942 crore from Rs 13,700 crore
