India and Uzbekistan: A cutting-edge IT lab was opened at the Uzbek Academy of Armed Forces, which is a huge step forward in the relationship between India and Uzbekistan. During his visit from April 15–18, 2024, Chief of the Army Staff General Manoj Pande celebrated this success. This showed how the partnership between the two countries is growing.
In line with what was promised at the defence ministers’ meeting in September 2018, this event marks a turning point in the way the two countries work together on defence.
The idea to build an IT lab was first brought up at this high-level meeting. Thanks to funding from the Ministry of External Affairs “c” initiative, the project gained traction and received approval in 2019.

According to ANI News, it has been discovered that the bids exceed the Rs 6.5 crore planned budget. As a result, the project was given a budget of Rs 8.5 crore. It was an Indian company that got the deal and finished the lab on time.

The IT Laboratory is full of cutting-edge technology. It has nine rooms, including two teaching halls, a server room, a multimedia room, a virtual reality room, a hardware programming lab, an object-oriented programming lab, a web programming lab, and a cybersecurity lab.
As extras, there are interactive panels, networking devices, video conferencing terminals, and a wide range of computer gear, such as printers, cameras, scanners, storage devices, and many high-end PCs, workstations, and laptops.
The partnership should make it easier for the Uzbek military to get training tools, help them learn more about modern combat strategies, and make it easier for them to work together. India and Uzbekistan are starting to work together, and the IT Laboratory shows how committed they both are to progress and mutual growth. In this way, the two countries are working to maintain the peace and safety of the area by laying the groundwork for future changes in their defence and diplomatic ties.
