Iran-US Attack: Iran has warned the United States against starting another military operation against Tehran. On Sunday, Iran’s central military command said it had received information that the US was preparing to resume attacks with support from some countries in the region.
Iranian officials said any new US attack would bring continued Iranian strikes against American bases and interests across the Middle East. They also warned that countries in the region that help a US attack could be treated as part of the conflict.
The warning comes as tensions between Iran and the US remain high after months of fighting. Reports say the current conflict began on February 28, 2026, and has continued to affect US military forces and bases in the region.

Iran Says Hormuz Won’t Reopen Yet
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Tehran has already sent its demands to Washington through intermediaries. He said Iran’s position on talks is clear and won’t change unless its conditions are accepted.
“The enemy knows very well that the path of deception and one-sided imposition is closed,” Ghalibaf said.
He also said Iran won’t return to earlier negotiation conditions or reopen the Strait of Hormuz until its rights are recognised and US commitments are carried out. The Strait is a key route for global energy shipments and has remained a major point in the dispute.
Ghalibaf said Iran’s actions during the past seven months had proved that the country wasn’t helpless when facing military pressure. He also said Iran’s resistance could help shape a new regional and global order.
Tehran rejects choice between war and talks
Ghalibaf said Iran doesn’t see fighting and negotiations as two separate choices. “We believe that the dichotomy of war or negotiations is not real; rather, we must both fight and negotiate.”
He said Iran would use military force when needed and would also use diplomacy when conditions were suitable. According to his comments, Tehran wants to use any battlefield gains to strengthen its position in future talks. He also said the US-led order in West Asia had collapsed and called on Muslim countries to build a new regional order.

Dispute Over US Military Death Toll
A separate dispute has emerged over American military deaths. The Washington Post reported on September 18 that at least 22 US service members had died during the Iran conflict. That figure is four more than the number listed in the Pentagon’s public casualty database at the time. A sixth US official told the newspaper that the number could be 23.
The Post said some of the additional deaths may not have been directly caused by combat but involved US personnel in the Middle East during the conflict.
