Indian-Singapore Navy Training: A group of Indian Navy training ships reached Singapore this month. The ships arrived at Changi Naval Base on the 15th. This group is called the Indian Navy’s First Training Squadron. It includes INS Tir, INS Shardul, INS Sujata, and the Indian Coast Guard Ship Sarathi. These ships are on a long training journey in the South East Indian Ocean area.
The Ministry of Defence said this visit is part of a scheduled training journey. The goal is to teach young sailors and officers about sea duties and teamwork between navies. While in Singapore, sailors from India and Singapore will join training programs, visit each other’s ships, and hold officer-level discussions. These activities are planned to sharpen skills and improve coordination between both naval forces.

Meetings and Activities
After reaching Singapore, India’s High Commissioner, Dr Shilpak Ambule, spent time talking with the young sailors who were part of the training squadron, reported News on air. He spoke to them to boost their confidence and hear about how their training was going. The officers in charge of the ships also held meetings with the head of the Maritime Training and Doctrine Command.
The sailors also joined simple community activities and met people from the Singapore Navy and the local area. These friendly meetings helped create good bonds and mutual respect. The sailors also got a chance to see how others live and work, which helped them learn new habits and cultures.
