HSL at IITF-2025: Hindustan Shipyard Limited also known as HSL, got important recognition at the start of the 44th India International Trade Fair at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. HSL works under the Ministry of Defence and is one of India’s Defence Public Sector Undertakings. Raksha Rajya Mantri Sanjay Seth came to the HSL stall, which is placed inside the Department of Defence Production Pavilion. The fair will run from November 14 to November 27.

Many top leaders also visited the stall. Jitin Prasada, who is the Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, came along with Sanjeev Kumar, the Secretary for Defence Production, and Amit Satija, the Joint Secretary for Defence Industries Promotion. Cmde Girideep Singh, IN (Retd.), who is the Chairman and Managing Director of HSL, explained how the shipyard is helping India grow its own strength at sea. He talked about HSL’s skill in submarine refits, advanced shipbuilding, and green-energy propulsion systems.
HSL also pointed to its agreement with the Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board to build a new greenfield shipyard, which will expand India’s shipbuilding capacity even more.
Indian Ships and Designs
HSL brought a wide range of its own Indian-made platforms to the fair. The display shows how the shipyard works across both defence and commercial areas. It shows designs for fleet support ships, diving support vessels, offshore patrol vessels, drill ships, and bulk carriers. The large display shows the shipyard’s strong engineering base and its ability to handle tough refits, upgrades, and high-tech ship construction.

Plans for Green Shipbuilding
HSL’s One major plan is to open a greenfield shipyard in Andhra Pradesh. This new yard will make advanced ships such as platform supply vessels, MR tankers, and landing platform docks. HSL will work with global technology partners for these projects. These steps fit with the Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat plan and the Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047.
