He described the strike as a momentous event, stating that the Indian Army acted with “precision, alertness and sensitiveness.”

According to Mint, Singh expressed his admiration for the Indian soldiers and officers involved, saying, “On behalf of the entire country, I congratulate the jawans and officers. I also congratulate PM Modi for supporting the armed forces.” He highlighted that the action was a direct response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, and it was taken with the intention of punishing those responsible. “Our armed forces also showed sensitivity in ensuring that the civilian population is not affected at all,” he said.

Response to Terror

The Indian Defence Minister explained that the operation was a “tit-for-tat” action, following the principle of Lord Hanuman. Singh quoted the saying, “Jinh mohi maara, tinh mohi maare,” which means that those who harm us should face the consequences. He continued, “We targeted only those who killed our innocent.”

The strike, according to Singh, was carried out under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and it aimed to break the morale of terrorists. The targets were selected carefully, with the operation focusing on terrorist training camps and their infrastructure.

The Indian government confirmed that Operation Sindoor destroyed nine terrorist facilities, including those associated with the groups Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba. The 25-minute missile and drone strike took place in the early hours of Wednesday and was described as “measured” and “non-escalatory.”

He assured everyone that the strike was carefully planned, focusing only on terrorist camps and making sure no civilians were hurt. The operation was a way to get justice for the deadly attack in Pahalgam on April 22 and to respond to Pakistan’s failure to take action against the terrorist groups operating there.

The Government’s Stand

Vikram Misri, India’s Foreign Secretary, also spoke about the strikes, describing them as “proportionate” and aimed at bringing the planners of the Pahalgam attack to justice. He stated that despite India’s repeated calls, Pakistan had failed to take action against the terrorist infrastructure operating in areas under its control.

Misri stressed that the Indian government’s decision to carry out these strikes was made with a sense of responsibility, ensuring that the action was appropriate and necessary.
