SCO summit in Qingdao: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will soon visit Qingdao, China, to take part in the Defence Ministers’ Meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). The important two-day meeting will be held on June 25 and 26. He will lead a high-level Indian team to this event.

During the meetinF defence ministers from SCO countries will talk about peace and security in the region and around the world. They will also speak about how countries can fight terrorism together and make defence ties stronger between member nations.

The Ministry of Defence shared that Rajnath Singh will speak about India’s deep belief in the values and goals of the SCO. He will share India’s ideas on how to keep the world peaceful and safe. He is also going to call for all SCO nations to work together closely and keep trying to stop terrorism and extremism. according to The Statesman, at the meeting, he will explain why trade, better connectivity, and economic partnerships between these countries are also very important.

While attending the SCO meeting, Rajnath Singh is also going to meet the defence ministers of many countries on the side, including China and Russia. These talks will help improve India’s defence ties with them. India gives a lot of value to the SCO because it is a strong platform for working together with other countries not just on defence, but also in politics, economy, and culture. India believes this kind of teamwork is good for everyone in the region.

The SCO works by following important rules like respecting each country’s borders and not interfering in each other’s internal matters. It was formed in 2001, and India became a full member in 2017. In 2023, India even held the rotating chair of the SCO.’
