Tamil Nadu Secures ₹1,600 Crore Investment in Aerospace & Defence

Tamil Nadu signs four major agreements with companies in aerospace, aviation, and defence sectors, bringing ₹1,600 crore investments and creating around 1,900 jobs, says Industries Minister TRB Rajaa.

Tamil Nadu Aerospace & Defence: Tamil Nadu Aerospace & Defence: The Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Ltd has signed four important agreements with different companies, bringing a total investment of ₹1,600 crore. According to Industries Minister TRB Rajaa, these projects will create jobs for around 1,900 people. He shared the news in a social media post.

Aerospace and Aviation Boost

One of the agreements is with PMI Engineering Exports. The company will build a precision aerospace manufacturing unit with an investment of ₹500 crore. This project will provide about 1,000 jobs. The factory will make very precise parts for civil and defence aircraft. It will use advanced machines that can cut metals like titanium and nickel-based alloys to very tiny measurements called micron-level tolerances.

Another company, SIMVAYU, will set up a high-tech aviation training and simulation centre in Chennai. The investment is ₹600 crore, and it will create 350 jobs once fully running. The centre will have Level-D Full Flight Simulators for planes like the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 MAX. “It is a DGCA-compliant Approved Training Organisation providing aerospace certification with simulator engineering and R&D and drone simulation,” the Minister said.

Defence and Space Industry Expansion

Tychon Global Systems will start an ammunition factory in Thoothukudi with ₹500 crore investment. The plant will give 550 jobs and make 30mm and 40mm ammunition. It will do everything from shaping the cartridges to testing their performance.

Inbound Aerospace, a start-up incubated at IIT Madras, signed an agreement to make advanced aerospace products. They will invest ₹100 crore to build spacecraft that can be recovered and reused. The factory will make efficient satellite solar panels, green thrusters for safe de-orbiting, and integrate avionics in clean-room conditions. The first phase will provide 60 high-quality jobs.
