BEL and SASMOS Defence Partnership: On February 16, 2026, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a major defence company owned by the government, signed a big agreement with SASMOS HET Technologies Ltd. SASMOS is an important Indian company in aerospace, defence, and space. The two companies plan to work together to create new defence technologies and make more products in India. The MoU was officially signed by Mr. Manoj Jain, CMD of BEL, and Mr. H.G. Chandrashekar, CMD of SASMOS, in front of Defence Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh and Secretary of Defence Production Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, IAS.

A Step Towards Atmanirbhar Bharat
This partnership supports the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat mission, which focuses on making India self-reliant in technology. The goal is to make strong homegrown defence systems and also sell them to other countries.
