Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has entered a significant partnership with French maritime company CMA CGM to build LNG dual-fuel ships, expected to enhance India’s global shipbuilding stature and promote cleaner maritime practices.
This landmark contract, signed in New Delhi, reflects CSL’s technical acumen and dedication to sustainable solutions, as officials announced on Thursday.
The collaboration involves constructing six 1,700 TEU LNG dual-fuel feeder container vessels, marking a significant step for CSL toward expanding its international presence. This development positions CSL as a strong player in technologically advanced and eco-conscious shipbuilding, with the vessels boasting dual-fuel engines that reduce emissions compared to traditional fuels.
