Gold Chain Lost at Mangaluru Airport Returned After Driver’s Confession, CISF Praised for Quick Action

A passenger’s gold chain was lost at Mangaluru airport, but after reviewing CCTV footage, authorities traced the driver who had picked it up by mistake. The chain was later returned.

CISF: On January 26, around 8:30 am, Rachna Marla, a passenger traveling on Indigo flight 6E-256 to Bengaluru, filed a complaint with the Mangaluru airport terminal manager, reporting that her son’s gold chain had been lost at the airport. By the time she made the complaint, Marla had already boarded her flight to Bengaluru.

The airport terminal manager quickly informed the CISF personnel about the situation. According TOI, After reviewing CCTV footage, it was found that the gold chain had fallen in the city-side vehicle drop-off area. The footage showed that a private vehicle driver had picked it up and left the airport.

With the help of the police, the driver was tracked down using the vehicle’s registration number. Upon being contacted, the driver admitted that he had picked up the chain by mistake. He expressed his willingness to return it to the airport.

CISF informed Marla about the developments, and she said that she did not want to press charges but simply wanted the chain returned.

The driver later provided a written apology. After completing the necessary documentation, the gold chain was safely kept at the Lost and Found office.

Later, Marla’s relatives came to the airport and collected the gold chain from the Lost and Found office. Marla appreciated the quick response and efforts of the CISF and shared a video message acknowledging their prompt action.
