Indian Pakistani Spy: A big problem has happened with India’s national security. A 27-year-old man named Ravindra Muralidhar Verma got arrested by Maharashtra’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) because he gave secret Indian Navy information to people believed to be Pakistani spies.
The ATS team from Thane caught him on Wednesday after they watched him closely for months. This is being called a major breach that could have put the safety of Indian warships and submarines at risk.
Ravindra worked at a company in Mumbai called Krasni Defence Technology Pvt. Ltd. in the electrical department. Because of his job, he could go to very secure places like the Naval Dockyard, Mazagon Dock, and Indian Coast Guard sites. These areas are highly protected and not open to regular people. But Ravindra had permission to go in and out, which made it easier for him to collect information secretly.

Back in 2024, Ravindra got Facebook friend requests from accounts named “Payal Sharma” and “Ishpreet.” These accounts were fake and are believed to be run by people from Pakistani intelligence. They pretended to be Indian women doing research on the Navy. They slowly became close to Ravindra by chatting with him online and then moved their talks to WhatsApp, reported Financial Express.
A senior ATS officer said, “He was aware he was sharing restricted data in exchange for emotional intimacy and money.” So, Ravindra knew what he was doing was wrong, but he still kept sending them secret information.
Ravindra did not use his phone inside the Navy areas because phones are not allowed there. Instead, he remembered things and then later made drawings, sketches, and even sent audio messages about ship locations and what was happening in the Navy. On 11 March 2025, he recorded an audio clip on his phone where he told the handler about ship inspections.
He also said he wrote down important details in a diary for his handler and a man called “Sir.” The very next day, he took a photo of a page in that diary showing a list of 14 warships and where they were. Out of those 14, the Navy confirmed that 5 of them were accurate and should have been kept secret.

ATS charged Ravindra under the Official Secrets Act, 1923, and also under Section 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. They also filed charges against his foreign contacts named “Priti Jaiswal” and the mysterious “Sir.” The police think Ravindra might have been tricked or threatened after talking to these people. They are now checking his bank accounts to see if he got money from outside the country. His mother spoke to the media and said, “He told me he wanted to delete Facebook because of bad people online. He is my only support.” She believes her son didn’t fully understand what he was getting into.
The police found lots of old chats, photos, and videos on Ravindra’s phone that he had shared with the fake profiles. Some of the chats were with people who pretended to be his college friends. Now the ATS is checking if anyone else in the same company might also have shared secrets. Ravindra is now in ATS custody until Monday.
