Biannual Naval Commanders’ Conference: The Indian Navy is getting ready for a big three-day meeting called the Commanders’ Conference 2025. It will start in New Delhi on Wednesday. This is the second edition of the Navy’s biannual meeting and this time it is very special because of Operation Sindoor and the Navy’s strong work pace in recent months. A Defence Ministry statement said, “This year’s conference holds added significance in the context of Operation Sindoor and the Navy’s sustained high operational tempo.”
Strength and Teamwork
The meeting will bring together top Navy leaders to talk about how to make the Navy stronger and more prepared for new challenges. The main goal is to improve combat power, teamwork, and joint missions with the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and the Indian Coast Guard. The conference will show how serious the Navy is about keeping the Indian Ocean Region and Indo-Pacific safe and showing its strength on the seas.

During the event, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and the Cabinet Secretary will speak to the Navy Commanders. They will share ideas about the country’s larger goals and the vision for “Viksit Bharat 2047.” The Defence Ministry said the meeting is also a time for the Navy to connect closely with national leaders and top officers to prepare for future challenges in the fast-changing world situation.
New Technology
The Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and the Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal AP Singh will also speak at the event. They will join Navy leaders to discuss how to plan and carry out missions together and use resources in the best way possible. Admiral Dinesh Tripathi, the Chief of the Naval Staff, and other top officers will review the Navy’s security plans for the Indian Ocean Region which is the Navy’s main area to protect.
“The Navy’s focus on enhancing combat capabilities, interoperability, and joint Operations with the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and ICG underscores its resolve to deter emerging threats and showcase maritime prowess in the IOR and Indo-Pacific,” the ministry said.

The Commanders will talk about training, operations, and how to use new technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Machine Learning to help with combat work and safe operations. They will also focus on improving logistics, digital systems, and making more equipment in India under the Make in India plan.
The conference will support the government’s “MAHASAGAR” idea which means Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security Across all Regions.
