India and China Armies Agreements: China’s Defence Ministry announced on Thursday that Indian and Chinese armies are actively following agreements to resolve the long-standing border standoff in eastern Ladakh. Senior Colonel Wu Qian, a spokesperson for the ministry, shared this update during a press briefing in Beijing. He said, “Right now, both militaries are carrying out the border-related agreements thoroughly and effectively.”
According to ET, Wu added, “China is ready to cooperate with India to maintain peace and stability in the border regions.” This statement comes after India and China completed the process of pulling back troops from key conflict areas like Depsang and Demchok in late 2023. These were the last two spots where soldiers from both sides had faced off for over four years, causing tensions between the two countries.

The troop withdrawal marked a major step toward calming the situation in eastern Ladakh. The standoff began in 2020 and led to strained relations, but recent efforts have focused on restoring trust. The Chinese spokesperson’s remarks highlight ongoing efforts to strengthen peace along the border. While challenges remain, the progress so far shows a shared commitment to resolving disputes through dialogue.
