IAF Successfully Airdrops Heavy Platform with 22 Ton Load Capacity with C-17 aircraft

The Indian Army and IAF collaborated on enhancing combat capability by airdropping a locally produced BMP from a C-17 transport aircraft.

C-17 aircraft: As part of a joint demonstration of seamless operational collaboration, an Indian Air Force C-17 transport aircraft airdropped a locally produced heavy platform with a maximum load capacity of over 22 tons.

A C-17 aircraft of the IAF, along with the Indian Army and ADRDE, expertly airdropped an Indian Army BMP mounted over an indigenous platform of ADRDE at a drop zone in the western sector on Thursday, the IAF posted on X. This was a collaborative demonstration of seamless operational teamwork.

“This remarkable feat demonstrated the operational prowess of IAF’s air mobility fleet and proved the capability and reliability of domestically developed platforms,” they stated.

The Indian Air Force successfully tested an air-launched ballistic missile that could strike targets at a distance of more than 250 kilometres earlier, marking a significant advancement in capability.

Senior sources in the national security establishment told ANI that the missile was successfully test-fired by a Su-30MKI fighter jet last week at a test range on the island’s territory in the Andamans.

The Indian Air Force tested the Israeli-made Crystal Maze 2 air-launched ballistic missile in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, also known as ROCKS.
