Mahindra and Embraer Sign Big Deal to Bring C-390 Millennium Aircraft to India

Mahindra Group and Brazil’s Embraer Defense & Security have partnered to bring the C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft to India, aiming to support the Indian Air Force and boost ‘Make in India’.

Mahindra and Embraer Deal: Mahindra Group from India and Embraer Defense & Security from Brazil have joined hands to bring the C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft to India. The deal became official when Embraer opened its new national office in New Delhi. This is meant to offer the C-390 Millennium for the Indian Air Force’s Medium Transport Aircraft program. Embraer is one of the biggest airplane makers in the world with more than 9,000 aircraft flying around the globe. Mahindra Group is one of India’s largest business companies that works in cars, IT, finance, energy and farming.

The two companies said they will work with India’s growing aerospace industry to explore ideas for making parts inside the country. They will also look for ways to do local assembly, maintenance, repair and overhaul. This will help India become a main place in Asia for the C-390 Millennium aircraft.

Strong Aircraft with Multi purpose

The C-390 Millennium can carry up to a 26-tonne load and fly at speeds close to 470 knots. The aircraft can be used for many kinds of missions like carrying goods or soldiers, aerial refuelling, medical evacuation, firefighting, and even rescue and relief work. The plane is already flying in several countries like Brazil, Portugal, Hungary, the Netherlands, and South Korea. It has a mission success rate of more than 99%, which shows how reliable it is.

Defence Ties Between India and Brazil

This new partnership builds on an earlier understanding that the two companies signed in February 2024. It shows that India and Brazil are becoming closer in the defence field. The cooperation between the two countries is not only about business but also about trust and friendship.
