BHEL Q4 net profit falls 25% to Rs 484 crore Due to Rising Business Costs

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited experienced a 25% drop in net profit to Rs 484.36 crore for Q4 2024 due to higher business costs.

BHEL Q4: Because of higher business costs, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), a state-owned company, reported on May 21 a 25% drop in net profit to Rs 484.36 crore for the quarter ending March 31, 2024. It made a net profit of Rs 645.13 crore.

Since the company reported a profit of Rs 46.31 crore in the December quarter, sequentially, net profit increased many times for the fourth quarter.

The PSU company’s operating revenue increased slightly to Rs 8,260.25 crore in BHEL Q4 from Rs 8,227.99 crore in the same quarter last year.

According to Moneycontrol, in the fourth quarter, the company’s profits before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) decreased to Rs 892.78 crore from Rs 1,160.6 crore in the previous year.

For FY24, the company announced a final dividend of 25 paise per equity share with a face value of Rs 2.

The closing price of BHEL’s shares on May 21 was Rs 318.8, up 2.7%.
