Raymond CEO of Defence Division: Raymond Limited has picked Bhanu Prakash Srivastava, the former Chairman and Managing Director of Bharat Electronics Limited, to lead its defence business as Chief Executive Officer. The company said the appointment took effect on July 6, 2026, and it also told the stock exchanges about the change on the same day through a filing under SEBI Regulation 30. Raymond said this move is part of its push into India’s growing defence and aerospace space.
Srivastava is not a new name in India’s defence world. He spent 39 years working in defence manufacturing and technology. He studied mechanical engineering at IIT (BHU), Varanasi. Raymond said he brings deep experience in defence technologies, big programme work, operations, research and development, naval systems, marketing, and strategic execution.

What did he do at BEL?
Before joining Raymond, Srivastava led BEL through a strong growth phase. The company’s filing says he tripled BEL’s market capitalisation from about ₹51,000 crore to ₹1.5 lakh crore. It also says he secured more than ₹55,000 crore in new orders and helped launch over 100 products. These included radar systems, naval systems, sonar, missiles, electronic warfare tools, and tactical communications. BEL also set up AI incubation centres during his time there.
Raymond said Srivastava will now shape the company’s long-term defence plan. His job is to help move Raymond’s engineering business beyond simple precision manufacturing and into higher-value defence electronics, software, systems integration, and linked aerospace and automotive work. The company said it wants to build a future-ready defence platform with stronger technology skills.
Raymond’s Defence Plan
Raymond’s defence move also fits with its wider business shift. After the demerger of its lifestyle business in 2024, Raymond now focuses on real estate and engineering. The company says its engineering arm already has a strong base in files and hand tools, and it has a wider market reach in India and abroad. Raymond also said that after acquiring Maini Precision Products Limited, its engineering business is set to grow into a major supplier of engineering, automotive, EV, aerospace, and defence parts.

Raymond Chairman and Managing Director Gautam Hari Singhania said Srivastava’s background makes him the right fit for this phase of growth. He said, “ideal leader to spearhead Raymond’s defence journey.” Srivastava also welcomed the role and said, “I am honoured to join Raymond at a defining moment in its growth journey.”
