Su-57E Can Serve IAF for 50 Years as Future-Ready Fighter for India: UAC Chief

UAC CEO Vadim Badekha said the Su-57E can meet Indian Air Force needs for up to 50 years and evolve into a sixth-generation combat system with drones and advanced networking.

Su-57E: Vadim Badekha, the Chief Executive Officer of United Aircraft Corporation, has shared strong views on the Su-57E stealth fighter. He said the aircraft suits the long-term needs of the Indian Air Force very well. He pointed to its long life, flexible design, and ability to grow with future technology. According to him, the Su-57 has been built to serve for at least 40 to 50 years. This long service life means the jet can stay useful even as air combat technology keeps changing over many decades.

Badekha explained that the Su-57 already meets all the key features expected from a modern fifth-generation fighter. These include stealth shaping, smart electronics, strong sensors, and the ability to do many types of missions.

He stressed that the aircraft uses an open architecture design. This design allows new systems to be added easily without changing the main structure of the jet. Because of this, the aircraft can get regular upgrades without costly redesign work and can stay modern for a very long time.

Built for Future Air Warfare

Badekha also said that the Su-57 is not standing still. Engineers are already modernising the aircraft. They are adding and testing technologies linked to future combat aircraft ideas. Instead of waiting to build a totally new sixth-generation fighter, Russia sees the Su-57 as a base platform, reported IDRW. New systems can slowly grow on it over time. These include better sensors, stronger electronic warfare tools and improved networking and new propulsion ideas.

A major part of this future plan focuses on teamwork between manned jets and unmanned aircraft. Badekha explained that unmanned aerial vehicles are being designed for many roles. These roles include watching enemy areas, jamming radars, and carrying out strike missions. The Su-57 will act as a command and control center in the sky.

In this future combat style, the Su-57 will guide and manage several drones at the same time. The aircraft will give tasks, share data, and work together with these unmanned systems.
