Maj Gen Vivek Tyagi Pune NCC: Maj Gen Vivek Tyagi, who serves as the Additional Director General of the Maharashtra Directorate of the National Cadet Corps, came to the NCC Group Headquarters in Pune to check how the team is getting ready for the Republic Day Camp 2026. He met many cadets, officers, and staff during his visit and spent time talking to them about their work and training.
Col Vineet Midha, who is the Officiating Group Commander, gave him a full briefing about how the cadets are selected, how they are trained, and how the whole preparation system is set up. The General Officer said he felt pleased with the organized plan and the strong standards that the Pune Group is following.

Training and Arrangements Checked
Maj Gen Tyagi walked around the training areas and watched the cadets practicing. He also looked at the cultural programs and the administrative work that supports the camp preparations. He appreciated the effort shown by the instructors and staff and praised their steady work.
When he spoke to the cadets, he told them to work hard and hold on to discipline at all times. He said they must aim for high performance and build confidence and leadership inside themselves. He reminded them of the legacy they carry and said, “The NCC plays a crucial role in shaping responsible citizens and future leaders. The proud legacy of Maharashtra Directorate as a Champion Directorate must continue,” and he encouraged everyone to keep the Directorate’s strong record at national camps, reported Punkar.

Future Plans for NCC
Maj Gen Tyagi also had a separate talk with NCC officers and staff where he explained future steps planned by the Directorate. He spoke about expanding NCC in more areas, bringing in the new syllabus fully, and adding new adventure activities so that cadets get more real-world learning. He said the Directorate will keep working to make training stronger so that it stays aligned with national goals and expectations.
