India Strait of Hormuz stance: Iran has spoken about the situation in the Strait of Hormuz as many countries worry about oil supplies and ship safety. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the important water route is still open. However he made it clear that ships connected to countries attacking Iran will not be allowed to pass through the area.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most important sea routes in the world for oil transport. A large amount of global energy shipments move through this narrow waterway. Because of the ongoing conflict involving Iran, the United States and Israel, the situation there has become tense.
Iran said it has not fully blocked the strait. But new restrictions and security fears have already slowed some shipping in the region. Many ships are now moving carefully or avoiding the route due to safety worries.

In an interview Abbas Araghchi explained Iran’s position clearly. He said, “The Strait of Hormuz is open. It is only closed to the tankers and ships belonging to our enemies, to those who are attacking us and their allies,” Araghchi said in an interview with MS Now. “Others are free to pass. Of course, many of them prefer not to because of their security concerns. This has nothing to do with us.”
Iranian officials say ships from countries like the United States and Israel are not allowed to pass. But tankers from other nations are still moving through the waterway.
Iranian Leaders Issue Strong Warnings
Some leaders in Iran have spoken even more strongly about the situation. Mohsen Rezaee, a member of Iran’s Expediency Discernment Council, warned foreign ships about entering the Gulf.
He said, “No American ship has the right to enter the Gulf,” he said.
Statements like this show how tense the situation in the region has become. The conflict between Iran, the United States and Israel continues to grow more serious.
Trump Calls for Global Naval Support
Meanwhile US President Donald Trump has asked several countries to send warships to the region to protect shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz.
In a post on Truth Social he called on countries such as China, France, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom to help keep the waterway open.
He wrote, “Many Countries, especially those that are affected by Iran’s attempted closure of the Hormuz Strait, will be sending warships, in conjunction with the United States of America, to keep the Strait open and safe,” Trump wrote.
Trump also claimed that Iran’s military strength has already been destroyed and warned that Iran could still try to attack ships using drones or missiles.
“We have already destroyed 100% of Iran’s Military capability, but it’s easy for them to send a drone or two, drop a mine, or deliver a close-range missile somewhere along or in this Waterway, no matter how badly defeated they are. Hopefully, China, France, Japan, South Korea, the UK, and others, that are affected by this artificial constraint, will send Ships to the area so that the Hormuz Strait will no longer be a threat by a Nation that has been totally decapitated,” Trump wrote.
He also promised the United States would make sure the route stays open for global trade. “One way or the other, we will soon get the Hormuz Strait OPEN, SAFE, and FREE!” he wrote.

India’s Special Permission for Shipping
Despite the restrictions some countries are still allowed to use the route. India recently received a special exemption from Iran to move its ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
Two Indian ships carrying liquefied petroleum gas safely crossed the waterway on Saturday morning. Rajesh Kumar Sinha, special secretary at India’s Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, confirmed the development.
Iran’s ambassador to India said the permission was given after talks between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian earlier in the week. This shows that Iran is allowing some countries to keep using the route while restricting others.
