India fires missile from drone:  India on Thursday carried out a successful test of an improved missile that launches from a drone. This trial marks a big moment in India’s effort to build more of its own defence systems. The missile, called the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Launched Precision Guided Missile Version 3 (ULPGM-V3), was tested by DRDO at a special trial site in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. The missile flew correctly and hit its target, which proves it is working as expected. The DRDO, which is India’s main defence research agency, led the test.

tis missile is not just any regular one. It is built to be launched from a drone and can hit different kinds of targets. It works in normal areas like flat land and also in tough mountain regions. That makes it useful for many places where the Army or Air Force may need to use it.

What makes it even more special is that it was fired from a drone made by an Indian start-up called Newspace Research Technologies. So not only is the missile made in India, but the drone carrying it is also made by an Indian company. That’s a big deal for Indian defence.

Defence Minister praises success

After the test, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh shared his happiness and said this launch is an important step forward for India’s defence power. He congratulated DRDO and all the people and companies involved. Defence Minister gave a shout-out to the start-ups, MSMEs, and other partners that helped in making the system. He said that this success shows India’s defence industry is now ready to take on important defence work and build powerful weapons and tech on its own.

This test shows how India is moving faster in building its own missiles, drones, and other weapons without depending too much on outside countries. The missile that was tested can be guided very accurately to its target, which helps in reducing mistakes and makes the strike more powerful. Since it can be fired from a drone, it can go into enemy zones without putting Indian soldiers at risk.
