INS Shakti in Singapore: In a strong show of India’s growing naval presence and friendship in the Indo-Pacific, four Indian Navy ships from the Eastern Fleet INS Delhi, INS Shakti, INS Satpura, and INS Kiltan visited Singapore from July 16 to 19, 2025. This visit was part of a mission where the Indian Navy is working more actively in Southeast Asia for betting the info pecific relations. Rear Admiral Susheel Menon, who leads the Eastern Fleet as the Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet (FOCEF), was in charge of this important deployment.
Stronger Connections Through Navy Visits
During the Singapore visit, Rear Admiral Susheel Menon met with many important leaders. He spoke with India’s High Commissioner to Singapore and also met with the Fleet Commander of the Republic of Singapore Navy. These talks helped both sides look at ways to work together more closely at sea, plan for future training, and build a better partnership in the region. He also visited a university and shared the Indian Navy’s views on security and current events happening in the Indo-Pacific.

One of the major parts of the visit was when the officers from the Indian ships went to the Kranji War Memorial. They laid wreaths to honor Indian soldiers who died during World War II, reported Indian Mastermind. This ceremony showed the shared history between India and Singapore and how much both countries value and remember those who served.
The Indian Navy and Singapore Navy also did many activities together. Sailors visited each other’s ships and learned from one another in special knowledge-sharing sessions. They also played friendly sports matches.

A deck reception on INS Shakti brought together people from the Singapore Navy, Indian diplomats, members of the Indian community in Singapore, and many other guests. This event helped build friendships and made the visit even more meaningful.
