ASELSAN Tests Electronic Warfare Systems: ASELSAN has carried out a live test in Türkiye’s Konya province where three different electronic warfare and surveillance systems worked together on Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aircraft. The test showed how a drone can find a radar, attack its signals and then create detailed radar images of the same area during one mission. More than 15 international defence delegations attended the demonstration.
The TB2 setup included the ANTIDOT 2ES 100 Electronic Support Measures pod, ANTIDOT 2EA 200 Electronic Countermeasure pod and FULMAR 200 radar pod. The three systems were used for different jobs. One helped find and locate radar signals, another was used for electronic attack and the radar pod supported intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance work.

ASELSAN has already tested the FULMAR 200-A SAR pod with the Bayraktar TB2. The company describes it as a light and compact AESA-based radar system for surveillance and reconnaissance. It can work during the day or night and in different weather conditions.
TB2 detects and attacks radar
The first part of the trial started with the electronic support system searching for a radar signal while the TB2 was flying. It detected the search radar and worked out its location. That information was then sent to the electronic countermeasure system so it could carry out a focused electronic attack.
During the test, the attack was stopped for a short time. This allowed the radar to find the TB2 again and lock onto the drone. The countermeasure system then used digital radio-frequency memory technology to interfere with the radar’s ability to keep tracking the aircraft.
ASELSAN’s ANTIDOT 2-U/EA 200 is designed to detect air-defence systems and measure their radar signals. The company says it can also use stored electronic attack techniques and jam several targets. The system has already completed flight tests and entered inventory.

FULMAR 200 creates radar images
The second part of the demonstration again used the electronic support system to find the radar and keep track of the situation. At the same time, the FULMAR 200 produced synthetic aperture radar images of the target area. ASELSAN said the images could support detailed ground mapping, target identification and location finding with metre-level accuracy.
The full test connected several steps in one mission. The TB2 detected the radar, located it, carried out electronic attack and then gathered radar imagery. ASELSAN presented the setup as a way to support suppression and destruction of enemy air-defence missions from one unmanned platform.
