Menzies Aviation Bengaluru Airport: Menzies Aviation is a well known airport services company from outside India, has received an approval to work at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport. The company has been given a 15-year licence to handle ground services at the airport. This permission was given by Bangalore International Airport Limited. The licence will start from April 1, 2026. Actual work will begin after all government and safety approvals are completed.
Menzies is not new to the Bengaluru airport. It has already been running cargo services there for more than 15 years. With this new licence, the company will now take care of passenger services, baggage handling, and aircraft ramp work at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. This means airlines will be able to use the same company for both ground handling and cargo work.

Why the Change happened at Bengaluru Airport?
This development comes after the exit of Çelebi Airport Services from the airport. The Indian government stopped Turkish companies from working in sensitive sectors. Because of this, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security cancelled Çelebi’s security clearance on May 15, 2025, due to national security reasons. At present, Air India SATS and GlobeGround India are the other companies providing ground handling services at the airport.
Bengaluru airport is one of the busiest airports in the country. It handles more than 43 million passengers every year and is growing fast in both domestic and international travel. And due to this busy environment, the need for better organisation also increased.
Future Plans
As part of the new agreement the Menzies Aviation plans to hire around 1,000 new workers over the next three years. These new employees will join the company’s current cargo workforce of about 1,700 people. All staff will receive training based on Menzies’ global safety rules and work standards.

The company also plans to spend more than US$9.2 million to upgrade its ground support equipment at the airport. This includes adding electric vehicles and machines as part of a long-term plan to reduce pollution and support cleaner airport operations.
