CRPF Officer Martyred in Naxal Landmine Blast in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum

CRPF personnel in Jharkhand were injured during an anti-Naxal operation, where Naxal insurgents set off a landmine explosion. The incident resulted in the death of SI/GD Sunil Kumar Mandal, a martyr, and HC/GD Partha Pratim Dey.

Naxal Landmine Blast in Jharkhand: During a major anti-Naxal operation, Naxal insurgents set off a landmine explosion in the forested and hilly area near Marangponga village, under Chotanagra police station limits. The explosion was meant to attack security forces, but it injured two CRPF personnel from the 193 Battalion.

The injured were identified as SI/GD Sunil Kumar Mandal and HC/GD Partha Pratim Dey. Both were quickly airlifted to Ranchi for advanced medical treatment. Sadly, SI/GD Sunil Kumar Mandal lost his life due to his injuries and became a martyr. HC/GD Partha Pratim Dey is now in stable condition.

According to Deccan Herald, the Jharkhand Police and all joint forces involved in the operation paid heartfelt tributes to SI/GD Sunil Kumar Mandal for his brave sacrifice. The anti-Naxal operation in the area is still going on with full force to eliminate the threats posed by the insurgents.

Naxal operatives had planted the explosive device in the area as part of their plan to ambush security forces. These operations, led by the district and state police along with CRPF battalions, aim to stop insurgent activities in sensitive areas like Tonto and the bordering Saranda forests.

After the explosion, security forces increased their search operations in the region to find and neutralize any more threats. Additional forces have been sent to secure the area and prevent further attacks. Senior police officials from Jharkhand and CRPF leaders are closely watching the situation to ensure the safety of the personnel involved in the mission.
