Reports say a coal-loaded goods train was moving toward the thermal plant when the accident happened. The CISF SUV was crossing the unmanned railway tracks inside the plant when the train’s engine hit it. Luckily, the train was moving slowly, and the driver applied the brakes, stopping the engine and preventing more damage.
The SUV had a CISF sub-inspector, security staff, and a driver inside at the time of the crash. After the accident, a hydra crane was used to remove the Bolero from the tracks. This cleared the way for trains to move again. No one in the SUV was injured. Authorities are likely to review safety measures to prevent such accidents in the future.
