HQ IDS-DST Collaboration: On March 21, 2025, a step was taken to make India stronger in defence technology. The Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff  (or the HQ IDS) and the Department of Science & Technology (DST) signed an important agreement called a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in New Delhi. This agreement aims to help the Indian Armed Forces use the latest science and technology to become more self-reliant and reduce the need to depend on other countries for defence equipment.

According to The Week, the MoU was signed by Vice Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan, who is the Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff, and Shri Sunil Kumar, the Additional Secretary of DST. The signing ceremony was also attended by Lieutenant General JP Mathew, the Chief of Integrated Defence Staff, and Shri Abhay Karandikar, the Secretary of DST. Their presence showed how important this partnership is for India’s future.
