CRPF soldier 21 Years of Service: The small village of Pachpedi in Chhattisgarh erupted in joy and tears as Om Prakash Kurre, a brave CRPF soldier, finally came home after serving the nation for 21 years. The entire village turned out to welcome their hero with flowers, music, and proud smiles.

21 Years of Brave Service

Om Prakash Kurre joined the CRPF in 2004 from Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh. After training in Hyderabad, he served in dangerous areas across India fighting Naxalites in Jharkhand, maintaining peace in Bengal, Bihar, Telangana, Tripura, and Nagaland.

He later joined the elite Cobra Battalion, where he underwent special training and played a crucial role in many high-risk operations. His courage led to the capture of weapons and materials from insurgents, helping keep the country safe.

Family Over Career

After more than two decades of service, Om Prakash decided to retire. His reason? To take care of his elderly parents. Speaking to Local 18, he said, “I served my country for 21 years. Now, I want to serve my parents and my village.”

His return brought him immense happiness. Seeing his village welcome him with so much love moved him deeply. Now, he plans to help his community, just as he once protected the nation. Om Prakash’s parents could not hold back their emotions. His father, Sampatlal Kurre, said, “Having my son back after 21 years is my greatest happiness. Every parent should encourage their children to serve the nation.”

His mother, Melabai Kurre, added, “Every mother should have the courage to send her son to serve the country. Today, I am the happiest—my son is home.” The people of Pachpedi gave Om Prakash a hero’s welcome. They showered him with garlands, wrapped him in shawls, and handed him bouquets. The village felt like it was celebrating a festival.
