Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), will visit Indonesia from December 15 to 18 for four days. This trip aims to strengthen defence ties between India and Indonesia, focusing on Naval Cooperation under their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
According to Economic Times, during his visit, Admiral Tripathi will hold talks with senior Indonesian officials. These include retired Lt Gen Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Indonesia’s Defence Minister, General Agus Subiyanto, Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces, and Admiral Muhammad Ali, Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy. The discussions will cover topics like maritime security, joint training, and ways to improve collaboration between the two navies.

India-Indonesia Maritime Partnership Visit
The visit highlights the close maritime partnership between India and Indonesia, reflecting their shared goals for Maritime Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.
The two navies already work together in many areas, such as joint exercises, port visits, and training programs to strengthen their capabilities. Right now, the 43rd India-Indonesia Coordinated Patrol is happening from December 10 to 18 along the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL).
