INS Sandhayak Commissioning Ceremony: At the Naval Dockyard in Visakhapatnam on Saturday, Indian Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh officially launched INS Sandhayak.

A Guard of Honour greeted the Defence Minister as he arrived in Visakhapatnam early in the morning to attend the INS Sandhayak Commissioning Ceremony.

The Defence Minister emphasised the strength and ability of the Indian Navy in terms of trade and security during his speech at the commissioning ceremony.

When it comes to security in the Indian Ocean and Indian Pacific, the Indian Navy has grown to such a strength that we are now the first to react. The Indian Ocean is considered a centre for world trade, according to Rajnath Singh.

“The Indian Ocean is home to several choke points, including the Gulf of Aden, the Gulf of Guinea, and others, through which a significant portion of global traffic passes. At these choke points, there are still many hazards, but the pirate threat is by far the greatest,” Singh continued.

“I will again say that people involved in maritime piracy and smuggling will not be tolerated under any circumstances, this is the pledge of new India,” the Defence Minister stated, reiterating India’s intolerance for these illegal activities.

“Recently, we have saved 80 fisherman; this is the goal and capability of our Indian Navy. Our increasing might is intended to end unreported and illicit fishing in the Indo-Pacific area, including the Indian Ocean. The Indian Navy’s increasing might is also putting an end to human and drug trafficking in this area, he claimed.

At the INS Sandhayak commissioning ceremony held at the Naval Dockyard in Visakhapatnam, Indian Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar also spoke. He stated that the Navy is committed to carefully building a balanced “Atmanirbhar Force” in support of an ascending Bharat.
