India’s INS Trikand docks at Limassol to strengthen naval partnership with Cyprus

INS Trikand Cyprus: The Indian Naval Ship Trikand, which is one of the stealth frigates of the Indian Navy, made a visit to Limassol in Cyprus during its current deployment in the Mediterranean Sea.

INS Trikand belongs to the Talwar class of guided missile frigates. The ship is full with modern weapons and sensors and is known for its ability to carry out surface, air, and underwater missions. The name Trikand means “trident,” which shows power and strength, and it was built in Russia before joining the Indian Navy in 2013, reported The Statesman.

When the ship reached Limassol, the Commanding Officer, Captain Sachin Kulkarni, met with important officials. He called on Manish, the High Commissioner of India to Cyprus, and also met Commodore Minas Solomonides, who is the Commander of the Cyprus Navy. These meetings showed the warm ties between the two nations and the wish to work together more closely in the future.

Activities During the Visit

The port call had many activities that brought both navies and people together. There were professional talks between officers, which helped in sharing knowledge and ideas. A yoga session was also held which showed the importance of India’s culture and healthy living traditions. INS Trikand maritime cooperations
