Indian Navy Welcomes Vice Admiral Sanjay Bhalla as New Chief of Personnel

Indian Navy Chief of Personnel, Vice Admiral Sanjay Bhalla, took over after 35-year career, holding operational and specialized positions on land and sea.

The Chief of Personnel (CoP) of the Indian Navy, Vice Admiral Sanjay Bhalla, took over on Friday. On January 1, 1989, the Indian Navy commissioned him. Vice Admiral Bhalla has held several operational and specialized positions both on land and at sea over his 35-year career. Following the completion of his electronic and communication specialization training, he worked as a specialist on board several frontline warships, including INS Beas, INS Taragiri, and INS Nishank. The East Fleet Flag Officer Commanding was Vice Admiral Bhalla.

He was the commander in “tactical command” for the esteemed President’s Fleet Review (PFR-22) and for the sea portion of the Indian Navy’s flagship multinational exercise, MILAN-22, which saw an unprecedented number of friendly foreign nations participate.

According to the report, among his seagoing commands have been INS Nishank, INS Taragiri, INS Beas, and the much sought-after Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet (FOCEF). He was the Officer in Tactical Command during the highly regarded President’s Fleet Review (PFR 22) and the Sea Phase of the Indian Navy’s major multinational exercise, MILAN 22, in which Friendly Foreign Countries participated in an unprecedented number.

Important staff positions held by Bhalla at Naval Headquarters include Assistant Chief of Personnel (Human Resource Development). He has overseen Officers training at the Naval Academy and worked abroad on diplomatic missions.

The Indian government has honoured his outstanding service with the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, the Nao Sena Medal, and commendations from the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief and the Chief of the Naval Staff.
