Indian Navy CTF 154: The Indian Navy has now taken charge of Combined Task Force 154, also called CTF 154. This group is part of the Combined Maritime Forces, known as CMF. It is a big international naval partnership where many countries work together at sea.

CTF 154 was created in May 2023. Its main job is to train and support member nations of CMF. This task force is fully focused on training and capacity building. It helps countries improve their skills so they can handle problems at sea in a better way.

Training and Teamwork at Sea

CTF 154 runs special training programs in different places across the Middle East. These programs allow many partner nations to join. Even countries that do not send ships or aircraft can still take part. This is possible because some training sessions are done on land.

The group works to improve how navies deal with common sea threats. These include illegal trafficking, piracy, and irregular migration. The task force arranges Maritime Security Enhancement Training events. It also conducts exercises like Compass Rose and Northern and Southern Readiness. These drills help countries learn how to respond together during real emergencies.

The training focuses on five core pillars:

  • Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA)
  • Law of the Sea
  • Maritime Interdiction Operations
  • Maritime Rescue and Assistance
  • Leadership Development.

The trust placed in India for this command shows that many nations respect India’s naval experience and professional skills. India is seen as a Preferred Security Partner among the 47 nations that are part of CMF.
