Fleet Review in Vizag: Visakhapatnam, also called Vizag, is preparing for a very big navy event. The Indian Navy is hosting the International Fleet Review (IFR) in the city for the second time. This grand event will begin with a Presidential Banquet on the evening of February 17. President Droupadi Murmu will be the main guest at this dinner. Many guests from different countries will attend. These guests include top leaders, government officers, and senior navy and military officials from India and other nations.

MILAN Village
Before the main event, the MILAN village will open on February 15. It will be inaugurated by the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Naval Command, Vice Admiral Sanjay Bhalla. MILAN village will be a fun and friendly place where people can meet and talk. There will be food stalls, entertainment, and cultural shows.
The village will show India’s rich culture from all states and union territories. Visitors can taste many kinds of Indian food from different regions. It will feel like travelling across the whole country in one place.
At the harbour, many serious and learning activities will also take place. Experts from different countries will join Subject Matter Expert Exchanges and an International Maritime Seminar. These meetings will focus on sea safety, challenges in oceans, and future plans. Young navy officers will take part in hands-on activities like visiting other ships, learning ship handling through simulations, training drills, safety exercises, and watching submarine rescue operations using a Deep Submergence Rescue Vessel (DSRV).
Sea Drills
The event will also show India’s strong navy skills at sea. There will be many action-filled drills with ships from different countries. These will include weapon firing, smart ship movements, anti-submarine operations, teamwork exercises, and aircraft carrier activities.

Along with serious navy work, there will also be fun and cultural events. These include sports, social gatherings, city tours, and a colourful International City Parade. The parade will celebrate India’s long and shared connection with the sea.
Reports say that around 100 nations are expected to take part in this International Fleet Review in Vizag, making it one of the biggest naval gatherings in the world.
