AT4 Anti-Tank Weapons: Swedish defence company Saab has completed the delivery of its AT4 anti-tank weapons to the Indian armed forces. These fully disposable, single-shot weapons are designed for easy use and will be deployed by both the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force. Saab had secured the contract for the AT4 in 2020, and the weapons have now been successfully supplied.
The AT4 is known for its powerful firepower and its effective range, which falls between 200 to 1,000 meters. The company has emphasized that the weapon is simple to operate and provides high versatility. “For any experience level, a dismounted soldier simply aims, fires, and destroys the target before discarding the empty tube. AT4 is truly characterized by its ease of use and handling,” the company states on its website.
Saab is also preparing to showcase some of its most advanced defence technologies at Aero India 2025, which is set to take place in Bengaluru from February 10.
The company will present its Gripen E fighter jets, the Carl-Gustaf M4 weapon system, and the Next-Generation Light Anti-Tank Weapon. According to The week, it will also display the latest Saab modular AUV system AUV62, the Land Electronic Defence System (LEDS), and the Integrated Defence Aids Suite (IDAS).
Saab has expressed its commitment to supporting India’s push for self-reliance in defence manufacturing. “Aero India 2025 comes at a crucial juncture of global developments, leading to a greater focus on defence capabilities as well as on developing self-reliance along with the need for robust and modern technology. We are fully committed to supporting the Indian government’s Atmanirbhar approach to national defence capability,” the company stated.
