Suryakiran Aerobatic: The Suryakiran aerobatic team of the Indian Air Force (IAF) will perform a thrilling aerobatic display over the scenic Hussainsagar lake on Sunday from 3 pm to 5 pm. The team is led by Group Captain Ajay Dasarathi, a Su-30 MKI pilot.
This airshow is expected to captivate the audience with breathtaking maneuvers like loops, rolls, crosses, and inverted flying. The event is part of the Indian Air Force Outreach Programme.
The Suryakiran aerobatic team (SKAT) was established in 1996 and is the only nine-aircraft aerobatic team in Asia, making it one of the most distinguished teams worldwide.

Suryakiran Aerobatic Team Overview
The Suryakiran aerobatic team, consisting of 9 Hawk Mk 132 aircraft, performs breathtaking aerial displays with aircraft flying just 5 meters apart. The team has 12 pilots, including Group Captain Ajay Dasarathi, the team leader, and Group Captain Sidhesh Kartik, the Deputy Leader.
As per DeccanChronicle, Other pilots include Squadron Leaders Jasdeep Singh, Himkhush Chandel, Ankit Vashisth, Vishnu, Diwakar Sharma, Gaurav Patel, and Wing Commanders Rajesh Kajla, Arjun Patel, Kuldeep Hooda, and Allen George. The technical team is led by Wing Commander Abhimanyu Tyagi, Squadron Leader Sandeep Dhayal, and Flight Lieutenant Manil Sharma.
Flight Lieutenant Kanwal Sandhu serves as the team’s commentator and administrator, while Squadron Leader Sudharshan is the team’s doctor.

The team’s motto, “Sadaiva Sarvottam,” meaning “Always the Best,” reflects their commitment to excellence. The pilots undergo intensive training to master complex aerobatic maneuvers, forming the foundation for their flawless close formation flying.
The Hawk Mk 132 advanced jet trainer, made in India by Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL), is used by the Suryakiran team. This aircraft is typically used to train new pilots of the Indian Air Force.
According to Thehansindia, These aircraft have recently been outfitted with locally produced smoke pods, which, while in flight, produce vivid displays of the saffron, white, and green hues of the Indian national flag.
