Rampage missiles: The Indian Air Force has introduced the Rampage long-range supersonic air-to-ground missiles, which can strike targets at a distance of around 250 km, significantly enhancing the firepower of its fighter aircraft fleet.

The Israeli Air Force made extensive use of the missile known as the High-Speed Low Drag-Mark 2 missile in its recent raids against Iranian targets. The missile is part of the Indian Air Force’s arsenal.

According to defence sources who spoke to ANI, the Indian Air Force has integrated the Rampage into its fleet of Russian-origin aircraft, which includes the Jaguar and Su-30 MKI fighter jets.

They also say that the Indian Navy has added the missile to its stock for the MiG-29K navy fighter aircraft.

Reports say that with the help of the stand-off weapon, Indian fighter pilots will be able to attack and destroy targets like radar posts or communication centres.

India Bolsters Defense Ties with Philippines, Transfers BrahMos Missiles to Counter China

Since the Rampage was introduced and combined with the Su-30, Russia’s aircraft force has grown by a large amount. There are now many long-range air-to-ground missiles that the Russians can use, such as the BrahMos fast missile that can hit targets up to 400 km away.

As part of the “Made in India” initiative, the Indian Air Force is now thinking about the idea of making the Rampage and putting it into service in large numbers.
