IIT Gandhinagar partners with Adani Defence and Aerospace to advance defense technology

India’s IITGN and Adani Defence and Aerospace have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on emerging technologies for defense applications.

IIT Gandhinagar Adani Defence and Aerospace: The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT Gandhinagar) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Adani Defence and Aerospace, a subsidiary of Adani Group, on May 13, 2024.

The purpose of this agreement was to collaborate in the areas of emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine learning (ML), and Large Language Models (LLMs) for defense applications. This was a significant move that was made to strengthen innovation in defense technology.

According to India education diary, Professor Amit Prashant, Dean of Research and Development at IITGN, and Ashish Rajvanshi, Chief Executive Officer of Adani Defence and Aerospace, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the campus of IITGN.

Indian Defence Research Wing Collaborates with IIT Bhubaneswar on AI-Driven Surveillance

The MOU wants to encourage study, teaching, and new ideas to be shared in the areas of artificial intelligence and machine learning used in defense. As part of the relationship, there will be joint study projects, the making of prototypes, student projects, and sharing of workshops.

The Chief Executive Officer of Adani Defence and Aerospace, Ashish Rajvanshi, made the following statement: “Our collaboration with IITGN marks a pivotal moment in the defence sector’s technological evolution. By combining our industry acumen with IITGN’s academic prowess, we aim to develop sophisticated, innovative solutions for defence. Our joint efforts underscore our dedication to national security and affirm our commitment to India’s self-reliance in defence technology.”
