Defence Minister Visits HAL Facility in Bengaluru Ahead of Aero India 2025

Rajnath Singh visited HAL Airport in India to visit HAL’s production facility for Aero India 2025, showcasing the advanced Light Combat Aircraft Mk1A.

Aero India: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Bengaluru on Sunday to visit the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) production facility ahead of Aero India 2025, which is set to take place from 10 to 14 February. After landing at HAL Airport, he toured the state-of-the-art Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Mk1A production facility. The Tejas Mk1A is an advanced version of the LCA Mk1, designed to improve combat efficiency with enhanced features.

Posting about his visit on X, Singh shared his thoughts on the advanced aircraft, saying, “Landed at the HAL Airport, Bengaluru for Aero India 2025. Visited the state of art LCA MK1A production facility of HAL. MK1A is an advanced version of LCA MK1 with many advanced features.”

The Tejas Mk1A has been developed to execute a variety of combat operations with precision and agility. It is capable of offensive air support, close combat, and ground attack missions. According to Business Standard, Defence Minister stated, “The LCA is a multi-role aircraft capable of taking up offensive air support, close combat and ground attack roles with ease. Tejas Mk1A is the pride of the nation that will serve as the backbone of the Indian Air Force for decades to come.”

Aero India 2025, which marks the 15th edition of the prestigious aerospace and defence exhibition, is expected to be a landmark event, building on the success of previous editions while exploring new advancements in aerospace technology.

The Ministry of Defence, in an official release, emphasised the significance of the event, stating, “Aero India 2025, the 15th edition of Aero India, is designed to be a landmark edition that leverages the successes of its predecessors while charting new territories in aerospace and defence technology. Aero India 2025 will be held from 10th to 14th February 2025 at Yelahanka Air Force Station, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. The first three days are dedicated to business visitors, while the last two days are open to the general public.”

The exhibition is set to be Asia’s premier aerospace event, with preparations in full swing for an impressive display of cutting-edge technology. One highlights this year is the Combat Air Teaming System (CATS) Warrior, a full-scale engineering demonstrator being showcased at the India Pavilion. The CATS Warrior is an advanced system designed to enhance the combat capabilities of the Indian Air Force.

HAL announced that two of its main attractions at the event would be the Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) and the CATS Warrior. The five-day event at Air Force Station Yelahanka will provide a platform for HAL to showcase its latest advancements, reinforcing its role in India’s growing aerospace industry.
