Air Marshal Seethepalli Shrinivas: Air Marshal Seethepalli Shrinivas took charge as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Indian Air Force Training Command on January 1. This is one of the most important roles in the Air Force because Training Command prepares young officers and pilots for the future. After taking charge, Air Marshal Shrinivas paid respect to fallen heroes. He laid a wreath at the Training Command War Memorial to honour brave soldiers who gave their lives for the nation.

Air Marshal Seethepalli Shrinivas: Long Career
Air Marshal Shrinivas studied at the National Defence Academy. He joined the Indian Air Force on June 13, 1987, as a fighter pilot. Over the years, he became a top-level flying instructor. He is a Category “A” Qualified Flying Instructor, which means he trains pilots at the highest level. He has flown for more than 4,200 hours.
He has flown many aircraft like MiG-21, Iskra, Kiran, PC-7 Mk II, HPT-32 and even microlite aircraft. He also trained as a second pilot on Chetak and Cheetah helicopters. Apart from flying, he also worked as an Operations Officer on the Pechora missile system.
Major Roles and Awards
During his long service, Air Marshal Shrinivas handled many big responsibilities. He led the Air Force Academy where young cadets learn to become officers. He also commanded a frontline fighter base near the western border and a major flying training base. He worked as Air Officer Commanding Advance Headquarters Western Air Command at Jaipur.

He also led an important training units like the Flying Instructors School, the Institute of Aerospace Safety and the Basic Flying Training School. In staff roles, he served as Assistant Chief of the Air Staff for Personnel Officers. He also worked as Chief Instructor at the Air Force Academy and served at Central Air Command headquarters. Before this new post he was the Senior Air Staff Officer at South Western Air Command.
Education
Air Marshal Shrinivas also focused strongly on education. He studied at the National Defence College, College of Defence Management and Defence Services Staff College. He holds a Master of Philosophy, a Master of Management Studies and a Master of Science in defence related subjects.
The nation honoured his service with the Vishisht Seva Medal in 2017 and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2024.
