TASL launches India’s first Sub-Metre optical spy satellite, TSAT-1A, into space as part of Bandwagon-1 mission by SpaceX

TASL successfully launched its TSAT-1A satellite into space using SpaceX’s Falcon 9, marking Tata’s first step into the space business.

TASL satellite: Tata Advanced Systems Limited’s (TASL) TSAT-1A was one of 11 satellites that Elon Musk’s SpaceX sent into orbit as part of its Bandwagon-1 mission from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA. The Falcon 9 engine was what made the rocket launch possible.

Then, TASL declared the launch of the TSAT-1A satellite into space to be successful. Satellogic, Inc. helped with this. The plan is for them to work together in November 2023.

This is TASL’s “first step” into the space business. India sent the Earth observation satellite TSAT-1A into orbit, which is the first sub-meter resolution optical satellite to do so.

It emphasizes “Satellogic’s expertise to develop and integrate an advanced Earth Observation satellite in India and TASL’s capability to undertake complex system integration.”

With its multispectral and hyperspectral features, TSAT-1A will be able to send high-resolution optical satellite pictures with more collecting power, a wider dynamic range, and faster delivery.

For the Indian military, it was made especially, and it will help them gather more secret information. To make navigation and picture processing easier, a ground control centre is now being created.

SpaxeX launched eleven spacecraft in all, including CENTAURI-6 from Tyvak International, QPS-SAR-7 TSUKUYOMI-II from iQPS, 425Sat from Korea, and Capella-14 from Capella Space.

The mission’s first stage booster, which has launched SES-22, iSpace’s HAKUTO-R MISSION 1, Amazonas-6, CRS-27, and nine Starlink missions, made its 14th flight today.
